SALESFORCE RENEWAL

Several increases can meet at one Salesforce renewal.

A list price rise, a contractual uplift and a push to new editions can all arrive at once, before a single user is added.

How Salesforce renewals work

Salesforce sells subscriptions under a Master Subscription Agreement, with an order form for each purchase. Order forms renew automatically unless notice is given, and the renewal price often carries a contractual uplift over the prior term.

In August 2025, Salesforce raised list prices by about 6% on Enterprise and Unlimited editions across Sales, Service, Field Service and select Industries clouds. Enterprise moved from $165 to $175 per user per month and Unlimited from $330 to $350. In September 2026, the new Core and Advanced editions arrived at $195 and $395.

Where renewals get expensive

  1. Uplift

    Increases built into the contract

An uplift clause compounds on every renewal. Left alone, a good price from three years ago drifts up each term.

  2. Seats

    Paying for licenses nobody uses

Unassigned licenses and unused permission set licenses are common, and harder to remove once the renewal quote is out.

  3. Bundles

Moving to a new edition by default

Core and Advanced include products the business may already pay for elsewhere.

  4. AI

    Agentforce added to the order

AI add-ons and credit commitments are often bundled into renewals to reach a better headline discount.

  5. Timing

    Missing the notice date

A renewal that starts inside the notice window runs on Salesforce's timeline.

What to expect

Order forms renew automatically unless notice is given, so the notice date matters as much as the renewal date. The first quote is an opening position. Uplifts, the edition decision and AI commitments are all part of the negotiation.
