Salesforce's year ends January 31.

Salesforce's sales teams work to quarterly and annual targets. Where a renewal falls against those dates shapes the conversation.

The calendar

  1. Q1

    February 1 to April 30

The new fiscal year begins with fresh targets.

  2. Q2

    May 1 to July 31

The first half closes at the end of July.

  3. Q3

    August 1 to October 31

Dreamforce and new product launches often fall in this quarter.

  4. Q4

    November 1 to January 31

Salesforce closes its year. This is the quarter with the most riding on it for the sales organization.

What it means for a renewal

Timing matters, but it is not automatic. Because order forms renew automatically, the notice date matters as much as the quarter.
