PALO ALTO PRICING

Each Palo Alto platform is priced on a different metric.

Firewalls are priced by hardware and subscriptions, SASE by user and security operations by endpoint or data. A single renewal can include all three.

How each platform is priced

  1. Strata

    Firewalls

Hardware appliances priced by model and throughput, with annual subscriptions such as threat prevention, URL filtering, WildFire and DNS security, plus support. Software firewalls are priced as subscriptions.

  2. Prisma

    SASE and cloud

Prisma Access is priced mainly per user, with bandwidth-based options for sites. Cloud security is priced by the resources protected.

  3. Cortex

    Security operations

Cortex XDR is priced per endpoint. XSIAM uses tiers based on organization size or data volume.

Hardware prices and component costs

Rising memory and component costs have put pressure on firewall hardware prices across the market in 2026. Hardware refreshes are often proposed alongside subscription renewals, which makes it important to understand the cost of each on its own terms.

Timing

Palo Alto Networks' fiscal year ends July 31, with quarters ending October 31, January 31 and April 30.
