DELL SUPPORT AND APEX

With Dell, support and subscriptions are separate deals.

ProSupport is priced on top of the hardware. APEX bundles hardware, software and support into a subscription. Each has its own terms.

ProSupport

Dell sells support separately from hardware through ProSupport tiers, which differ in response times and coverage. Support is usually bought for multiple years and renewed as systems age. The default tier is not always what each system needs.

APEX

APEX is Dell's as-a-service model: servers, storage, data protection and PCs delivered with software and support as a subscription over a multi-year term, billed on committed or used capacity. Committed capacity is billed whether or not it is used.

Timing

Dell's fiscal year ends on the Friday nearest January 31, and its fourth quarter runs from November to January.
